Practice Philosophy
My passion for counseling is deeply rooted in my cultural background. As a first-generation Palestinian-American, I have witnessed firsthand how difficult it can be to seek mental health support within minority communities. Growing up, mental health was rarely discussed, and seeking therapy often carried stigma. This realization fueled my commitment to making mental health care more accessible, particularly for those in underserved communities, because everyone deserves quality support.
I strive to increase mental health awareness not only within the Middle Eastern community but also in all communities around me. My clinical approach is client-centered, emphasizing continuous rapport-building and collaboration. I believe that individuals are the experts in their own lives, and my role is to guide them toward the life they want—honoring their unique values, perspectives, and experiences. My goal is to empower clients with the tools to adapt to challenges, build resilience, and foster meaningful personal growth.
Clinical Experience & Expertise
I have experience working with individuals facing a range of challenges, including:
• Mood and anxiety disorders
• Eating disorders
• PTSD and trauma-related issues, including sexual assault, domestic violence, and self-injury
• ADHD
• Adjustment difficulties (e.g., career changes, relationships, relocation, major life transitions)
• Family and relationship dynamics, including challenges within multicultural or intergenerational families
About Me
Outside of my work, I love traveling and immersing myself in different cultures. I’m passionate about the outdoors and never pass up an opportunity to hike or swim—especially with my dog by my side. My favorite moments are those spent with my friends and family, creating lasting memories together.
